about

All the cool blogs have an "about" section. I guess I should say something about myself: I review albums, EPs and singles. Yeah, that's about all the relevant stuff in the context of this blog.

Generally, I review music I like regardless of whether it's new, old, or something in between. It does tend to be on the new side, but I promise I'll try to review more older stuff too.

If you want to send me your album/EP/song/demo to review, email me (please include the word "review" in the subject or I might mistake it for spam; something like "review my album" or "review this shit" or whatever) or DM me on Twitter, and I'll give it a listen. I promise to review everything that's sent my way, but if I don't like it... well, I will likely find something positive to say about everything and focus on that, but if there's absolutely nothing good about it, I'll say something "constructive" that will only be my opinion. It might take me a while to get around to reviewing it, in cases where I want to let it "digest" for a bit, but probably not.

One thing, though: if you only link to Bandcamp and the release in question is not free to download, I won't review it. The reason is that the Bandcamp player only has 128kbps quality and compresses everything, which can totally destroy tracks, and that'd affect my listening experience. So, if you want me to review something you made, ideally send it in 320kbps quality or high VBR (or FLAC, but mp3 is more convenient). If it's supposed to sound like shit because that's your aesthetic or whatever, 128kbps or other low quality is fine, but please mention that so I know. I mean, I might buy your stuff if I like it (or maybe not), but I'm not made of money and have priorities. Besides, if you've read my reviews, why the FUCK would you want me to review your music?! You're more likely to wish I'd never even hear your music, right?🤔

~

Outside this blog, I make music myself:
My Bandcamp
My Youtube
Deformed Elephant Surgery (my synthcore project)
Heave the Sun (my ambient metal project)
St. Kain & Wormwood (collab project with Ness Io Kain)
Smunctrum (collab project with NvesX, Jesus and D.K.)

If you want to collab on making some music, email me (please include the word "collab" in the subject or I might mistake that for spam too; something like "let's collab" or "collab with me" or whatever), or DM me on Twitter, and I'll (probably) be down to collab with you on whatever.
